license plate hinge

Description

This is a “license plate hinge” that we made once for a movie set out here. A control cable is attached to the license plate bracket and pulls it in and out. The motor unit is an off-the-shelf car power antennae unit and we crimped the cable to the power antennae end. When the motor is activated the antennae pushes in and out and pulls the cable with it.

it worked quite well, we put 2 switches on the dash to control it with indicator lights which confirm that the flap is extended down.
