2005 Pontiac Vibe Door Buzzer removal

The door/key/seatbelt buzzer was driving me crazy…. it had to go. Here is how to I ripped it out. (Don’t throw it away, you can always put it back in for when you sell the car, maybe some people like the noise.)

…remove front bezel
…take out screws and pull out instrument cluster
…take off back cover of cluster
…locate round buzzer
…Remove buzzer, put vise grip or pliers tightly onto buzzer and pull out/up to remove, probably something like pulling a tooth. It’s tight so you need quite a bit of pressure. You can also put a screwdriver under it and “twist” it out, but be carefull not to damage the fine circuit board etching. Reassemble and voila… no more annoying buzzer when door is open of key is in.

P.S. If you don’t want to do something this drastic, you can just put black tape over the hole or squeeze some silicone into the buzzer hole and it will be alot quieter.
